We love beautiful notebooks but are all too aware that we need to use paper in a more eco-friendly manner. That's why we are increasing our range of sustainable and environmentally friendly journals and notebooks and are also using Fairtrade companies wherever possible. Our Sari and Soft Wrap journals are made from recycled cotton paper and are covered in fabric recycled from traditional Indian saris. We sought out sustainable journals using treeless paper too; Lokta paper is made from only the bark of this Himalayan plant, and is both chemical free and completely sustainable. They are bound in local buffalo hide, tanned by Fairtrade craftsmen perpetuating traditional techniques. Another family business in Rajasthan provides us with leather journals filled with Khadda paper, made from unbleached, cotton rags recycled from India's garment industry. Marigold petals, bougainvillea, aster flowers, grass and silk thread are added to the paper to give each notebook its own individual paper finish. Their vibrant modern colours combine with traditional craftsmanship to prove that it is possible to create eco-friendly goods without sacrificing style or quality.
