These unique journals are handmade by a Fairtrade family business in Rajasthan, using traditional techiques to produce beautiful and sustainable products. Covered in soft, rich brown Indian leather, and enhanced with leather stitching on the edges and spine, they are filled with 125 pages of “Khadda” paper, made from unbleached, hard-spun, cotton rags left over from the Indian garment industry. Marigold petals, bougainvillea, aster flowers, grass and silk thread are added to the paper to give each notebook its own individual paper finish. A unique addition to this eco-friendly journal is a semi-precious stone in a stitched surround.
This lovely, chunky journal is compact in size and finished with a leather tie strap; it makes a charming, eco-friendly gift for any writer. Stone colours vary.
